Mr.  Jerry L. Collins, 79, of Eden NC passed away November 25th, 2022, at UNC Rockingham.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 29 3pm at the Overlook Cemetery off Bryant St. in Eden N.C.  Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Living Waters Church, 6500 Greensboro Rd. in Ridgeway Va.

Mr. Collins was born to Lewis and Louise Crews Collins in Rockingham County and was a graduate of Madison-Mayodan High School.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Collins, sister, Debra Collins, brothers-in-law, Derrick Davis, James, Cleo, Clifton, Wade and Irvin Chumley, sisters-in-law, Louise Spencer, Gladys and Dorothy Chumley.

He is survived by his son, Michael Collins and wife Angela; sisters, Ann Davis and Judy James; sisters-in law, Annie and Judy Chumley; grandchildren Maxwell and Michaella Collins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Collins was a dedicated, hardworking truck driver for over 30 years with Old Dominion Freight Line until his retirement.  Mr. Collins was also a member of Living Waters Outreach ministries where he served faithfully in many roles from Deacon, Sunday school teacher, song leader, maintenance mechanic, and anywhere help was needed. He was a dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather and faithful friend who would help anyone in time of need. He loved working and helping others, fishing and spending time with friends.  Many people benefited from his hard work and his desire to show others the love of Jesus.
