Jeannette “Jennie” Wentworth, 51, entered the gates of heaven, on September 23, 2024, at home surrounded by love and family, after an extended battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Jennie was born on February 22, 1973, in Rocky Mount, N.C. to Kalen Clay and Rev. Charles G. Clay. She was a graduate of First Colonial High School. After high school, she continued her education at ECPI University.

She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and a beloved sister. Her love for her family was unmatched and she devoted her life to spreading her love and kindness. Jennie loved spending time with her family outdoors, oftentimes camping or fishing.

Jennie is survived by her faithful husband, Jeremy Joseph Wentworth, of Lawsonville, NC; daughter, Shelby Wentworth Calhoun (Connor), grandchildren Kensleigh, Spencer, and Madelyn, of Lexington, NC; mother, Kalen Clay, of Chase City, VA; twin brother Jon Clay (Monica), of Chase City, VA; older brother Chuck Clay (Stephanie), of Saxe, VA; nieces Abbie,

Lydia, Olivia, Vanessa, and Lizzie; nephews Kyle, Burke, Brady, and Liam. She is also loved by her devoted pets Walter and Lulu.

Jennie is predeceased by her father, Rev. Charles G. Clay.

Jennie’s strength and love was greatly felt by all who knew and loved her and she will be dearly missed.

A private family gathering to commemorate Jennie will be held at a later date.
