Jeffrey Thomas Smith, 58, passed away Monday afternoon, September 4, 2023, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 8th, at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Madison with Pastor Eddie Sizemore officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, 6 – 8 PM, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison and other times at their residence.
Jeff was born June 11, 1965 in Hartford, Connecticut to the Cynthia Langer Smith and the late Wilbur Stanley Smith. He was of the Catholic faith. Jeff was a very talented man, a Jack-of-all-trades. Being a master carpenter was his occupation but his talents were far reaching when it required working with his hands. He was one to find great peace being in or around bodies of water whether on a boat in a lake or surf fishing at the coast. Jeff will be remembered as a wonderful person who was willing to help others with needs they may have but most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Karen Stevens Smith, who spent 31 years, total, loving this man; two brothers, Jonathan Smith and wife, Tonya and Jason Smith and wife, Chasity; step-daughter, Ashley Goforth and husband, Jessie; along with step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison is serving the family.
