Jeffrey Dale Mitchell completed his good work here on earth on May 15, 2025 surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home.
Jeff was born on February 23, 1965 and lived a life of deep integrity, quiet strength, and generous kindness. He was a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church and faithfully served as a deacon among other roles. Jeff selflessly gave of his time and talents and worked tirelessly to help others. He exemplified patience, hard work, humility, and honesty. In every area of his life, Jeff aimed to not just do the right things, but to do all things right.
Jeff was gifted with a brilliant mind, as well as the creativity and ability to solve problems of all kinds. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering in his workshop, fixing things, being outdoors, reading, studying history, learning obscure tidbits of trivia, and bringing to life all the do-it-yourself projects and home renovations that he and Christina dreamed up. Above all, Jeff loved spending time with and taking care of his family. Of all the beautiful things he built throughout his life, Jeff was most proud of his family.
Remaining on earth are many of Jeff’s loved ones, including his best friend and wife of more than 40 years, Christina Amos Mitchell; son, Christopher Dale Mitchell (Sarah); daughter, Micayla Renae Mitchell Neill (Erik); grandchildren, Felix, Theodore, Penelope, Susannah, and Clementine Mitchell; fur-grandchildren Daisy, Cassie, and Roscoe Neill; mother, Sue Mitchell; brother, James Mitchell (Beth); father-in-law, Clyde Amos; sisters-in-law Melissa Winfrey (Teddy) and Michele Self (David); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Mitchell; mother-in-law, Bertha Amos; and grandparents, Ray and Vivian Mitchell and Oliver and Irene Lawson.
