Jeanette Carter Mabe, 83, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Jeanette was born on July 2, 1941 to the late Homer and Estelle Carter. Jeanette spent many days in the Tobacco fields with her father, creating memories she held dear. She provided childcare for many family and friends over the years which also included her own granddaughter Liberty which she did for more than 10 years. Jeanette enjoyed sending and receiving cards, which brought her great joy. She was a fan of gospel music and found comfort in its melodies. Jeanette also had a fondness for soap operas, especially “The Young and the Restless.”
The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Dwanda, Mandy, Caroline, Cheryl, Marilyn and Ancora Compassionate Care.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lewis and Maude Joyce, John and Mary Carter.
She is survived by her children, Kelly Mabe (Eddie), Todd Mabe, Lisa Charles(Chris); grandchild, Liberty Charles; sister, Lucille Carter Freeland; nephews, Desi Williams(Gail), Marc Williams; great- nephews, Camden and Landen Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to Joyce Family Cemetery and/or Ancora Compassionate Care.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
