Jasper Christian, Jr., the beloved husband of Hallie Oliver Christian, departed this life on Wednesday morning, November 30, 2022. 

As a native and resident of Danville, Virginia for the majority of his life, he attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Southside High School, Class of 1965.  He pursued further education at Bluefield State University and Lynchburg College.  Following an illustrious career in Education, he retired from the Pittsylvania County School System.  Spiritually, he was a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Usher, member of the Gospel Choir and taught Sunday School. Fraternally, he was a member of the Murdock Lodge No. 163 F&AM (PHA) and the Reidsville Consistory No. 224.  During his leisure, he enjoyed spending time with family, helping others and socializing.  Having a special interest in computers and automobiles, he was very knowledgeable, skilled and mechanically inclined. 

We thank God for blessing us with the beautiful life of Brother Jasper, a faithful servant.  Glory To God! 

His parents, Kathleen Hughes Christian and Jasper Christian, Sr.; beloved son, Michael J. Christian; sisters, Maude Christian and Mable Pinkard, preceded him in death. 

Survivors are: endearing wife of 55 years, Hallie Oliver Christian; daughter, Tanya Christian; grandchildren, Jasmine Christian, Chantel Christian and Terence Christian Tucker; great-grandchildren, Kiyan Christian and Bryson R. Bass; sister, Kathleen Millicent Bethel (Alfred); sisters-in-law, Mattie Vance, Eunice Gunn (Harvey) and Aline Smith (Earl); special friend, like a son, Morris Dodson; other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022 from the Calvary Baptist Church, 218 Holbrook Street with Dr. Ernest Coppage, Sr. presiding.  His remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  The family is receiving friends at the residence, 109 Westmore Drive.
