Janice Roberta Joyce Hurd, 86, of Mayodan, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at her home.
Janice was born in Rockingham County on February 22, 1938, to the late Robert Lee and Ruby Mae Cardwell Joyce. She worked in textiles most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. Janice loved her family and loved animals. Her passion was arts and crafts including crocheting and knitting. Most of all, she loved to travel, going out west and especially loved going to Hawaii.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Francis “Tankie” Hurd.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Sherri Darnell and husband Bob of Mayodan; her sister, Debbie Tilley and husband Junior of Mayodan; her granddaughter, Lyndsie Perdue (Chris Prevette) of Madison; and her great granddaughter, Mackenzy Johnson.
