Janice Kensinger Heath, 83, of Summerfield, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Janice was born in Bluefield, West Virgina on October 23, 1941, to the late James, Sr. and Fay Fannon Kensinger. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church Summerfield where she sang in the choir and enjoyed bible study. Janice loved her church and church family. She loved being on the go and traveling with her husband, often going to the Outer Banks, the Parkway, and even the Grand Canyon. One of her greatest passions was music and she was gifted on the piano and organ. Janice had a fun, loving personality, she loved life, and her greatest joy was her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Kenneth, Babe, and Donnie Kensinger.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Raeford Heath of the home; her children, David Shrader (Vicki) of Hickory, Joseph Shrader (Kelly) of Holly Ridge, Angie Scott (Adam) of Summerfield, and Jennifer Nelson (Billy) also of Summerfield; nine grandchildren, Justin (Jillian), Zachary (Tyler), Logan (Jessica), Levi, Chloe (Richard), Amber (Isaac), Aaron (Hannah), Ally (Austin), and Kiersten; and four great grandchildren, Joshua, Liam, Brodie, Avalene, and two on the way.
A 3:00 p.m. memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at First Baptist Church Summerfield with Dr. Kelly Bullard and Rev. Derrick Moody officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
