Obituary: JANICE HECK GORE

Janice Heck Gore, 84, left this earthly life on Monday, May 23, 2022 at her home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Beaver Island Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Nathan DeFalco officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison.
Mrs. Gore was born on August 1, 1937 in Botetourt County, Virginia to the late Howard Bernard Heck, Sr. and Bessie Mae Wade Heck. She retired from Duke Energy as an office manager and attended New Life Baptist Church in Madison. Janice enjoyed camping and collecting crystal bells, however her greatest joy was her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Gregory Allen Gore and brothers, Elbert Rodney Heck and Donald Wade Heck.
Survivors include her husband, Dudley Gore; son, David Wayne Gore (Susan); daughter-in-law, Tammy Kallam Gore; grandchildren, Traves Gore (Sherry), Nichole Richards (Chris), Jake Gore (Morgan) and Emily Gurkin (Drew); great-grandchildren, Dylan Gore, Carly Richards, Kacey Gore, Jaxon Gurkin, Gavin Gore, Karter Gurkin and Charlie Gore; brother, Howard Bernard Heck, Jr. (Linda) and sisters, Nancy Heck Cash, Betty Lou Heck Looney, Dorothy Jane Heck Crews (Jim) and JoAnne Heck Jayne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
