Jane Price Irving, 84, of Stoneville passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at her home.
Jane was born in Duncanville, Alabama on November 24, 1939, the daughter of Evie Price and Lula Velmer Sumner Price, both deceased. She graduated from the Watt School of Nursing. Early in her nursing career, she served as a medical missionary to Ghana, West Africa. She retired as a registered nurse from the Rockingham County Health Dept. She loved her work and was loved by her patients. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved a good cup of coffee and reading a good book. She also enjoyed birdwatching, working puzzles, and taking walks. She especially loved visiting the young children of her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald “Don” Ray Irving, her son, Paul Carter Irving and her brothers, Eugene and Irvin Price.
Jane is survived by her son, Webster Sumner Irving of Stoneville; her daughter-in-law, Golethia “Goldie” B. Jones Irving; and her grandchildren, Claire Garrett Irving, Wyatt Jacob Irving, Andrew Alexander Irving, and Matthew Christopher Irving; her best friend, Kerri Carter; and her loving care giver, Jill Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the general fund of Centenary United Methodist Church, 3403 Settle Bridge Road, Stoneville, NC 27048.
