Obituary: JAMES “WILSON” HODGES

James “Wilson” Hodges, 86, of Reidsville, went to be with his heavenly father on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

Mr. Hodges was born on October 4, 1937 to the late Lewis and Minnie M. Hodges. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, our dad dearly loved his church family and was a faithful member of True Light Baptist Church.

Wilson enjoyed spending time with his family and playing ball with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved going to watch them play sports at school, as well as traveling to the mountains.

Wilson leaves behind his faithful wife of sixty-eight years, Jean C. Hodges; one daughter, Carolyn H. Aheron (Johnny); one son, James Michael Hodges (Patricia); five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred S. Bennett; three brothers, Wilbur, Doug and Donnie Hodges and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Oak Level Baptist Church in Stokesdale. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday at the church and all other times at the home.

The family would like to thank his two very special caregivers, Bonnie and Katie, as well as the caring nurses, doctor and chaplain with Ancora/Hospice of Rockingham County.
