Mr. James Wilbert Williamson, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at his residence.

A viewing was held privately at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. at New Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church, 8939 US Hwy 158 W., Ruffin, NC. Pastor E. Lamar Boykin will deliver the words of comfort.

Mr. Williamson was born on December 26, 1944 in Caswell County, NC to Forrest Alfred Williamson and Minnie Argelia Graves Williamson.

He was educated in the local public schools system and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1963. He later received an associates degree from Federal City College (now Washington Tech).

At one time, he worked for the US Postal Service, was a supervisor for the DC Railroad and eventually retired as an engineer from the DC Metro with 27 years of service. He also taught CPR and First Aid.

Mr. Williamson was a member of New Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church and was very fond of his pastor, Rev. E. Lamar Boykin. He had a strong faith in God and was very concerned about children and their wellbeing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Angelia Johnson Williamson and daughter, Archelle Eureca Williamson.

Survivors include son, Jonathan Maurice Antren “Divine Allah”, brothers, Lindsey Forrest Williamson and Bobby Lee Williamson (Deborah); sister, Inett Azell Williamson Reeves (Timothy Sr.); special friends, Doc Pickard, Deacon Bobby Jones, Dr. George and Ernestine Pickard; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church members.
