James Hubert Lineberry, 97, passed away Saturday morning, December 9, 2023, at Gibson House (Ancora Compassionate Care) in Reidsville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 13th, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison with burial to follow in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6 – 8 PM, at Colonial Funeral Home.
James was born October 15, 1926 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late John and Josie Mabe Lineberry. He was a retiree of Burlington Industries after 35 years of service. James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his friends at Stone Arbor Apartments. He took great pride in having a current driver’s license that would have carried him through to his 99th birthday and shared that fact with many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his son, Gladys Taylor Lineberry and his 2nd wife, Gladys Williams Lineberry; multiple siblings and his daughter-in-law, Lisa Lineberry.
He is survived by his son, James “Pete” Lineberry (Debra) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Christopher “Chris” Lineberry (Paula) of Browns Summit and Paul Anthony “Andy” Lineberry (Gerri) of Pfafftown; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Landon, Haeleigh, Sydney and Alyssa; sisters, Thelma Lineberry, Vertie L. Mitchell, Lois Purgason and Judy Gann; along with many nieces and nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison is serving the family.
