James Gravely Rogers, 81, of Ridgeway passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2pm. A private family burial will be held 1pm Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, VA.

James was born December 29, 1942 in Axton, VA, to the late Walter J. Rogers and Frances Rebecca Hankins Rogers. A devoted Christian, James was a member of Ridgeway Church of Christ. He worked as a machinist at E.I. Dupont for over 30 years. He loved Gospel and Bluegrass music. James raced vintage automobiles and loved his 1937 Ford Humpback.

Surviving is his loving wife, Tempie Gregory Rogers; sons, Keith Rogers (Teresa) of Hope Mills, NC, Kevin Rogers (Laura) of Madison, NC; grandchildren, Eli Rogers, Jordan Rogers, Maegen Rogers Harsh, Taylor Rogers; great-granddaughter, Nora Lee Rogers-Harsh; sister, Sherlene R. Payne of Mechanicsville, NC.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Rogers, and brother, Buddy Rogers.
