James Edward Dix, 60, of Ridgeway, VA passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2pm at Hampton Heights Baptist Church in Eden. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 pm at the church and other times at 164 Lake Lamar Road in Reidsville.
James was born in Eden on July 27, 1962 a son of Rufus Junior Dix and Cassie Axsom Dickerson, both deceased. He worked his entire career as a self employed modular home construction builder.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Talbert Dix.
James is survived by his fiancé “sweetheart”, Shelby Hogan of Reidsville; his sons, Jimmy Donnell and wife Ashley and Chris Donnell and girlfriend, Whitney all of Williamsburg, VA; his stepmom, Lois Dix of Raleigh, NC; his siblings, Kay Dunovant of Ridgeway, VA, Renee Chandler of Martinsville, VA, Willidine Mellas and husband, Steve of Raleigh, NC, Robin Darone and husband Steve of Raleigh, Teresa Collins and husband, Jack of Murphysboro, TN, Steve Mays of Kittrell, NC; his grandchildren, Merissa, Naveah, Hailey, Christopher, Jordan; his special friend, Jay Amburn and numerous nieces and nephews.
