James “Jim” Edward Brown, 80 of Summerfield Passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Jim was born in McDowell County WV to the late Carl and Pauline Brown. Jim enjoyed a 40-year career with Moore Business Forms. He was most proud of his inclusion as a Lifetime Achievement Club member in sales. An avid golfer, he so enjoyed the camaraderie of his buddies. He probably closed more deals on the golf course than from his office. Jim also had a love of muscle cars. As a young man, he was a drag racer. His highlight was competing against Richard Petty’s “hemi under glass”. He spent countless hours with his friend Doug Lawrence restoring vintage Corvettes and Camaros. Jim never missed his daughter’s recital or a ball game. He enjoyed coaching his son’s youth teams and mentoring the young men whom he coached. A devout family man, he loved nothing more than catching up with his grandchildren and spending time with family.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Brown Jr. and sister, June Bradbury.

Jim is survived by his wife of 24 years, Claudia; children, Tim Brown and wife, Jackie and Carla Oakley; grandchildren, Ty, Hannah, and Andrew as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Rockingham County, 1520 South Scales Street, Reidsville, NC 2730.
