James Donald “Donnie” Holland, 71, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Speedwell Presbyterian Church and burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
A native of Bethany, he was a son of the late James Donald and Pearl Holland and he had lived in Rockingham Co. all of his life. Donnie was retired from Elixer and he owned and operated Donnie’s Small Engine Repair Shop. He was a member of the Eno River Tractor Pullers Club, and enjoyed gardening and supplying fresh vegetables to people in the neighborhood, surf fishing, and he loved his dog “Abbie”. Donnie loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family and he was fond of eating chicken wings, hot dogs, and especially German chocolate cake. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Pam Moore Holland, his sisters: Linda Everette and Hilda Perdue and by a son: Jayme Holland.
He is survived by his daughters: Heather W. Brown (Jeff) of Reidsville and Jessica H. McVey (Matthew) of Haw River, son: Greg Holland of Alabama and his grandchildren: Beth Brown, Harper McVey, Dexter Stringfellow, Dixy Holland, Logan Holland, Jayden Pitts, Jaxson Holland, and Erin Clifton.
The family will see friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Citty Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rockingham Co. P.O.
