Obituary: JAMES “BILLY” FREDRICK PRILLMAN

James Fredrick “Billy” Prillman, 85, of Eden passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Gibson House Hospice Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrell Boles and Pastor Matthew Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery (Woodlawn) on Bryant Street in Eden. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm before the service on Saturday.

Billy was born in Rockingham County on August 13, 1938, the son of Henry Harvey Prillman and Daisy Mae Corum Prillman, both deceased. He retired from Karastan Rug Mill. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a “car nut”. He loved John Deere lawn mowers and spent many hours working on them.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Betty Wells.

Billy is survived by his wife, Alma Roberts Prillman of the home; his children, Billie Jean Freeman, James Fredrick “Ricky” Prillman, Jr., and Jerry Prillman, all of Eden; his sister, Elaine Tart of Eden; his grandchildren, Charles “Chuck” Freeman, Jr. of Eden, Melissa Roberts and husband David of Eden, Kelsey Henning and husband Tristan of Hampstead, NC; his great grandchildren, Rydia Antu and husband Austin, Trinity Roberts, Marcus Henning; his great great granddaughter on-the-way, Astrid; and his nephews, Mike and Terry Duncan.
