James Benjamin “Benny” Gann, Sr., 76, passed away early Sunday morning, July 17, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 20th, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel with burial to follow in the Old Country Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6 – 8 PM, at Colonial Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Benny was born June 3, 1946 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late James Lee Gann and Margaret Inez Barrett Gann. He was a retiree of Duke Energy and loved horses and classic cars.
He is survived by his wife of more than 57 years, Martha Wall Gann of the home; son James “Jamie” Gann, Jr. and wife, Amanda of Sandy Ridge; granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Gann of Sandy Ridge; two brothers, John David Gann (Pam) and Randy Lee Gann (Denise) of Madison; along with three sisters, Sarah Pruitt of Madison, Faye Kallam (Jerry) of Mayodan and Donna Harris (Larry) of Greensboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Gann.
Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison is serving the family.
