Obituary: JAMES “ANTHONY” NELSON

James “Anthony” Nelson, 57, left this earthly life, Thursday, April 20, 2023 at his home.
Anthony was born on March 6, 1966, in Rockingham County, to Zella Craddock Nelson and the late Billy Edgar Nelson. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and was a former employee of Tractor Supply. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and Papa.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and all other times at the home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 Monday, April 24, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Nelson Cemetery.
In addition to his father, Reverend Billy Nelson, he was preceded in death by a brother, DeCarol Nelson.
Survivors include his mother, Zella Nelson; his wife, Elizabeth Galli Nelson; daughters, Angel Vernon (R.J.), Zora Nelson, Ellie Nelson, and bonus daughter, Katie Everette; grandchildren, Khloe Presnell and Kyler Lemons; brothers, Johnny Nelson (Mary), Ronnie Nelson (Ann) and Eugene Nelson (Kathy); and several nieces and nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
