Obituary: IRENE CRAIG RHODES

Irene (Nonie) received her “promotion” from earth to Heaven on January 22, 2025. She’s already having a great time, rushing around Heaven, hugging her mother, husband Renzo, brothers, sisters & friends who were “promoted” before her!

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo; sisters, Irby Massey, Ruby Kinsey, Iola Lines; brothers, Carey Lee, Robert Lee, George Craig, & Marvin Craig.

Her life was blessed with, and she is survived by 2 gifts from God; daughters, Donna Rhodes Sikes (and husband Nathan), Summerfield, NC, & Aprill Rhodes (and partner Mary Quirk) of Asheville, NC; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Sikes; Alex Sikes, & Rebekah Sikes; 2 great grandchildren, Nora & Callie Sikes; brother, Ralph Craig (and wife Tootsie).

Irene loved Jesus & His Word. She considered it a blessing & a joy to have worked as a bookkeeper for the Cornerstone Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, in Greensboro, for 33 years. She taught the Bible over 55 years, (Juniors, Teens, College Age, & Adults) at Aycock Fellowship Ministries & Family Harvest Outreach, both in Greensboro, NC. She also taught a Bible Study in her home for 30 years.

A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at a later date.
