Mrs. Irene Inez Miller Blackwell, age 94, departed this life on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at her residence.
Public viewing will begin on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.
The committal and interment will follow in Trinity Baptist Community Center Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.
All other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 168 Underwood Road, Elon, NC.
Irene Inez Miller Blackwell was born on August 26, 1930 to the late James Bernard & Annie Virginia Russell Miller in Pittsylvania County VA.
She attended Booker T. Washington High School and graduated from Browns Summit High School.
At an early age, Irene professed her life in Christ at Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Trinity Baptist Community Center where she was an active member serving as Mother of Church, Missionary and Senior Choir Member.
She is proceeded in life by siblings, James Thomas Miller; sister, Earlee (Oscar) Tucker, Julian Miller (Nannie), Elmer Miller (Berda), Bernard Miller (Lois), Mary Ann Mitchell (Norman) and Curtis Miller (Carolyn); sons-in-law, Freddie Cummings and Michael Cobb, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories to husband, Warzell Howard Blackwell; children, Ava “Mimi” Cummings, Avery Blackwell, Dale Blackwell (Myra), Phyllis Cobb and Valerie Gwynn; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
