Obituary: INEZ PERKINS PHILLIPS

Inez Perkins Phillips, 98, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Hospice House of Alamance County.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Thompsonville Baptist Church in Reidsville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:30-1:30PM.

Inez was born on July 4, 1926, in Ruffin to the late John Wyatt Perkins and Myrtle Evans Perkins. She worked at Lorillard for 29 years before retiring at the age of 62. Inez was a devoted wife to her husband, Cosmo, for 31 years before his passing. She also loved to plant flowers and was an avid yard worker as long as she was able. Inez was faithful and devoted to the Lord and to her family. She loved family get togethers with her immediate and extended family. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cosmo Acy Phillips, and daughter Regina Faye Phillips Pierce.

She is survived by her son, John Paul Phillips and wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Elizabeth Fascaldo and husband Thomas; J.P. Phillips, Regina Marlette Pierce and husband John Kubata, Alanna Faye Pierce, and John Henry Pierce V; 8 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
