Huey Long Watkins, age 87 passed away November 29, 2024 at The Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday December 7th, 2024 at Overlook Cemetery in Eden. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the graveside at Fair Funeral Home at 1:00 pm.

Huey was born November 21, 1937 to the late Hobson Curtis Watkins and Angeline Gilley Watkins in Henry County Virginia. He was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Eden and worked at Spray Cotton Mills in the maintenance department. Huey also served in the United States Army National Guard.

Surviving Huey is his son-in-law Brett R. Starr of Portsmouth, VA. Preceding him in death along with his parents are his wife Edna Earle Harvey Watkins and daughter Melissa Watkins Starr. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial donations be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church in Eden, NC in Huey’s name.
