Howard Jesse O’Neal, Sr died August 14, 2022, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.
Mr. O’Neal was born October 9, 1942, in Rockingham County. He was the son of the late Howard F and Willie Manuel O’Neal. He was retired from Piedmont Triad International Airport where he served as a Security Guard. He enjoyed fishing and gardening as long as his health would let him. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and loved the Atlanta Braves and the North Carolina Tar Heels. He was a devoted member of Woodbine Baptist Church and he attended as long as his health permitted.
In addition to his Parents, he was preceded in death by a step daughter, Karen Sue Atkins.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Marie Pruett O’Neal; children, Howard “Jesse” O’Neal, Jr. (Jennifer), Linda Gail Foulks (Billy), Sherry Lynn Gregory (Rob) and Peggy Davis (Bryan); 3 stepsons, Jerry Calvin Adkins, Mark Anthony Adkins and Michael Todd Adkins; 2 sisters, Linda French (Russell) and Shelby Cobb, 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Ray Funeral Home and all other times at his home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.
