Hilda Wilson Tilley, 80, passed away late Friday evening, October 7, 2022, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, October 11th, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison with burial to follow in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, 11 AM to 11:45 AM.

Hilda was born February 18, 1942 in Stokes County, NC, to the late Carey Wilson and Pearl Wall Wilson. She was a charter member of Stone Eden Baptist Church (now Hope Church Stoneville).  Hilda was a retired daycare worker where she poured so much love into the lives of the children she tended. She had a passion for helping others, whether it was family, friends and neighbors, she was always there for them.  Her greatest treasure was her family and she enjoyed every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her son, Michael Tilley of Madison; daughters, Tammy Cook (Don) of Stoneville and Cynthia Coke (Mike) of Eden; seven grandchildren, Justin Cook, Elizabeth Cook, Katie Tilley, Stephen Tilley, Elijah Tilley, Mattie Tilley and Sarah Tilley; and a special uncle, Raymond Wilson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Tilley; her brother, Reverend Kenneth Hall; and her daughter-in-law, Ginger Williams Tilley.

Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison is serving the family.
