Hassell Eugene Stump, 70, of Eden passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 2 pm at Draper Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 pm at the church.

Hassell was born on March 24, 1954, in Rockingham County, a son of Frank Amon Stump and Josephine Ballard Stump, both deceased. He worked most of his life in textiles. He was a faithful member of Draper Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was also a member of the choir. He was a core member in the establishment of the Hope Center Outreach. Hassell loved racing, kayaking and fishing but most of all he loved the time spent with his loving wife, family and friends and his fur babies. Hassell will be remembered most by his gentle spirit and his enormous heart. He was always there to help everyone who needed him.

Hassell is survived by his wife, Linda Corum Stump of the home; his children, Joshua Stump and wife, Crystal of Eden, Heather Hooker and husband, Mike of Randleman, NC and Sammy Corum of Durham, NC; his sibling, Bernard Stump of Savannah, Ga., Jacqueline Owens of Eden, Dewey Stump, Charlotte Meeks and husband, Carlile of Eden, Nancy Stump of Asheboro, NC, Roger Stump and wife, Robin of Charlotte, NC and Darrell Stump of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Katie Johnson Potter, Nick Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Noah Johnson, Mavrick Hooker, Ashlyn Corum, Reegan Corum, Cavin Corum and Talon Corum; his great grandchildren, Juanita, Ava, Rosie and Ezekiel; several nieces and nephews and his very special fur babies, Pearl, Rea and Layla.

In addition to his parents, Hassell was predeceased in death by his brother, Frankie Stump.
