Obituary: HARRY “BUSTER” THOMAS TUCKER

Harry “Buster” Thomas Tucker, 94, died on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Gibson House Hospice.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kathy Randall Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Summerfield Peace United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors. A reception will follow the committal in the church Fellowship Hall. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home and all other times at the residence.

Mr. Tucker was born on July 3, 1930 in Rockingham County to the late Melvin Clarence Tucker and Annie Mae Southard Tucker. He graduated from High Point College which is now High Point University. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a devoted member of the Summerfield Peace United Methodist Church since 1965. Harry worked at Western Electric which later became AT&T where he retired in 1990. He found joy in the great outdoors, pursuing passions like hunting and fishing. His love for travel led him to explore many destinations, enriching his life with unforgettable experiences.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Toby Davis Tucker; sisters, Adell Mitchell, Mae Quate and Fae Hunter and brothers, Melvin Tucker, Jr., Clay Hunter Tucker, Clifton Green Tucker, Leonard Dixon Tucker, Jimmy Boyd Tucker and infant brother, Troy Tucker.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Sarah Davis Tucker; son, Thomas Glenn Tucker (Misty); grandchildren, Tiffany Leigh White (Lucas), Thomas “Tito” Tucker, II (Cheyenne) and Jessica Staley; great-grandchildren, Brinleigh White, Sawyer White, Miles Tucker and Baige Tucker; sister, Patsy Hagan; brother-in-law, Ray Bullins and many extended family members.

The family wishes to thank his caregivers, Betty Dalton, Victoria Kallam, Donna Newsome, Morgan Odell, Cindy Snyder and Robin Young for their care and compassion.

Also, a special thanks is extended to the entire staff of Ancora Compassionate Care, specifically, Amy Goins for the loving care provided.
