Harris Lee Russell departed this life on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
He was a native of Rockingham County, North Carolina and a resident of New York for 25 years before returning to North Carolina. Harris Lee was a member of Garrett’s Grove United Methodist Church and a high school graduate. He was a former employee of Ruger Firearms, a shoe store manager and a truck driver. During his leisure, he enjoyed swimming, fishing, pitching horseshoes and playing basketball.
His parents, Emma Jean Lynn Russell and Eugene Richardson; siblings, Percy and John Russell; nephew, John Walter Russell, preceded him in death. Survivors are: sister, Shirley Russell; brothers, Willie Dale Russell (Phyllis) and Gregory Norris Russell (Crystal); aunt, Ossie Lynn; uncle, Willie Mc Clurklin; special friend, Stephanie; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street with Pastor Squire Pettiford presiding.
