Harold Dean Ward, 85, died on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Boyd Joyce officiating. Interment will follow in the Ward Cemetery in Sandy Ridge. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends following the interment at Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church, 2527 Amostown Road, Sandy Ridge.
Mr. Ward was born on August 4, 1938 in Stokes County to the late Ralph Ward and Virginia Maude Morton Ward. He retired from Sears & Roebuck after thirty-five years of service. He attended Trinity Church in Greensboro and most recently Lawndale Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Ward, Franklin Ward and Wayne Ward.
Survivors include his sisters, Judy Gregory (Garry) and Gail Scott (Ron); sisters-in-law, Claudia Ward and Martha Ward and many special nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delta Methodist Church, PO Box 151, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046.
