Gretchen Elaine Bullins Rhodes, 85, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at her home.
Gretchen was born on January 2, 1940, to the late Miller and Carrie Brim Bullins. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist church and worked as an assistant teacher for Stokes County Schools for many years. She enjoyed teaching and loved her students. Gretchen was a great cook and always enjoyed traveling with her husband, going to 40 states, and their favorite place being the Outer Banks. She also loved flowers, reading, and bird watching.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Rhodes; her sister, Eloise Hawkins; and her two brothers, Ray and Lewis Bullins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Rhodes and wife Marcia of Madison; two grandchildren, Brett Rhodes and fiancé Andrea and Brooke Rhodes, both of Madison; and her great granddaughter, Mazikeen Rhodes.
