Obituary: GLORIA MAE PETERS






























































Gloria Mae Sims Peters, 87, of Stoneville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at UNC-Rockingham Hospital.

A 12:00 noon graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Stoneville City Cemetery with Bishop Doyle Marley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Terry Funeral and Cremation Service.

Gloria was born in Rockingham County on May 6, 1937, to the late Jesse and Mary Lou Brown Sims. She was a dedicated homemaker most of her life and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She previously attended Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a choir member and sang in a trio. Gloria enjoyed singing, working puzzles, studying her bible and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Taylor Peters; and her brother, Dwight Sims.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert “Taylor” Peters and wife Deborah and Benny Peters and wife Kathy both of Stoneville; her grandson, Benjamin Lee Peters and wife Hannah; great grandchildren, Halleigh and Hudson Peters; her brother-in-law, Jim Peters; and her best friend, Gloria Millner.
