Obituary: GEORGE “RAY” SHELTON

George “Ray” Shelton, 65, of Ridgeway, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at his residence with his loving family surrounding him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

George was born May 22, 1957 in Greensboro, NC, to the late George and Dixie (Reid) Shelton.  George was an avid dirt track racer with many wins in his career.  He loved being with his family, playing the guitar, riding on his John Deere tractor and loved his animals. George worked for Home Lumber and had many special friends. 

George is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Donna Hall Shelton of the home; children, Joseph Shelton of Reidsville, Sheri Shelton of Mayodan, April (Patrick) Craft of Ridgeway, Kristy Hall of Ridgeway, Jessica (Ricky Brooks) Hall of Ridgeway and Donald Hall of Reidsville;  14 grandchildren, Michael, Brooke, Hunter, Kaylee, Brenden, Alexa, Landen, Cody, Alyssa, Cameron, Emily, Macey, Aubree and Aliyah;  several great grandchildren; 2 nephews, Michael Foulks and David Mabe;  life long friends, Tommy Farmer and John Collins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Nancy Bondurant and Judy Mabe.
