Obituary: GEORGE PATE EAST, JR

George Pate East, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on September 24, 2024.
George was born on July 8, 1930 to the late George Pate and Louvie Kappell East. George dedicated 23 years of his life to serving in the Air Force, where he demonstrated unwavering commitment and bravery. George was an avid sports fan who loved the Tar Heels and enjoyed watching and participating in various sports. He was a pro-am bowling player for over 30 years and had a passion for fishing. Above all, George was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his family deeply.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy East; and his second wife Myrna D. East; siblings, Lewis, Linda, Kathy.
He is survived by his son, G.W. East (Sue); daughters, Karen Ward, Lori Ross (Jim); grandchildren, Andrienne Compton (Paul), Clifford W. East (Edyta), Shawn Hudson (Melinda), Amy Ross, Amber Fischer (Jason); great-grandchildren, Emily Compton (Darek), Kaitlin East, Andrew Compton, Gavin Hudson, Peyton Hudson, Everly Fischer; siblings, Ralph, Raymond, Irene, Earlene, Herman, Harold, Doris, Marie, Michael, Carolyn, Jerry. In addition to the above George had a large extended family who he loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a veterans charity of your choice.
Colonial Funeral Home of Madison is serving the family.
