Deacon George Claude Boswell, Jr. the beloved husband of Jennie Williamson Boswell, departed this life on Wednesday evening, January 24, 2024.

As a native and resident of Caswell County, North Carolina for the majority of his life, he attended the local public schools and a retired cement contractor. With courage and tenacity, he honorably served his country in the United States Army. Being a resolute and faithful member of Saint James Baptist Church, he actively participated as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Financial Clerk (Treasurer), Musician and Choir member. In all he did, he served the Lord and was dedicated to His teachings. Possessing admirable traits for us all to emulate, Deacon Boswell was always willing to lend to others and enjoyed gardening, traveling and landscaping. He was a true friend to all mankind. Deeply, he will be missed.

His parents, Cleo Brown Boswell and George Boswell; siblings, Cullen, James, Donnie, Dennis and Linda Boswell, preceded him in death.

Survivors are: beloved wife of 58 years, Jennie Williamson Boswell; daughter, Cynthia B. Harris (Jimmie); sons, Tony R. Boswell (Margarita) and Perry O. Boswell (Kimberly); grandchildren, Dominique Boswell, Patrick Harris (Desiree), Harrison Boswell (Brittany), Latrice Boswell, Dasha Boswell and Natasha Boswell; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Boswell; special nieces and nephews, Crystal Boswell, Felecia Boswell (Jasper), Christina Boswell, Kimari Stokes, Rodney Stokes, Devonte Lipscomb, Bryson Lipscomb and Rodney Stokes, Jr.; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Noon Monday, January 29, 2024 from the Saint James Baptist Church, 246 Benton Road with Pastor Thomas Long presiding and Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. The Family will receive friends Monday from 11 until 12 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Sunday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
