Ms. Geneva Ethel Walton departed this life on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
She was a native of Newport News, Virginia and a resident of Reidsville for the majority of her life. Attending the local public schools, she was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1960 and pursued further education at Rockingham Community College. Spiritually, she was a faithful member of Saint Mariah United Holy Church where she served with the Senior Choir. Ms. Walton was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant and was formerly employed by Fieldcrest-Cannon Corporation. During her leisure, she enjoyed traveling to the beach and watching the Hallmark movies.
Her parents, Mary Jones Walton and Fred Walton, preceded her in death.
Survivors are: beloved son, Kenneth Walton (Colette); grandchild, Jacqueline Colette Colson (Mikel); great-grandchildren, Darius, Destiny and Mason; sister, Pauline Stubblefield; devoted friends, David Martin and Alphonso Simpson; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Noon Saturday, February 11, 2023 from the Saint Mariah United Holy Church, 127 Mc Coy Road with Bishop Harry L. Cohen presiding. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 until 12:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Friday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
