Gayle Earles Johnson-Carter, 80, passed away late Wednesday evening, March 22, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 1st, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Gayle was born March 26, 1942 in Leaksville, NC (now Eden), to the late James Russell Earles, Sr. and Myrtle Lee Bennett Earles. She was a long-time real estate broker, owning and operating her own business.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Johnson and wife, Rosie Moreno-Johnson of Mayodan; three grandchildren, Jordan Reaves, MacKenzie Reaves and Bailey Johnson; along with sisters, Marian Earles Gwynn of Elon and Brenda Earles Jenkins of Reidsville. Gayle was also loved by her step-grandchildren, Crystal, Rosie C, Justin Rafael and her step-great-grandchild, Alana.
In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Reaves; two brothers, James Russell Earles, Jr. and William L. Earles and sister, Jean Earles Gibson.
Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison is serving the family.
