Obituary: GARY RONALD STONE

Gary Ronald Stone , 66, of Ridgeway VA went to be with the Lord Tuesday November 26, 2024 at Annie Penn Hospital Reidsville, NC.

Memorial Services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday December 7, 2024 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shannon Newsome. The family will see friends following the service in the funeral home.

A native of Reidsville, NC, he was a son of the late Reuben C. and Lucy Williams Stone and had lived in Ridgeway, VA for the last thirty-two years moving there from Eden, NC. He was a former employee of Womack Electric Co. in Reidsville and was a retired employee with the Boilermaker Local Union #30. He spent many days after his retirement volunteering at the Blue Octopus Antiques and Artisans store in Eden. Gary loved Listening to music and there was music playing constantly when he was around. He enjoyed watching old westerns on television, welding, and collecting old toys from his youth. He loved animals and took in numerous strays throughout his life. He fed the wildlife around his home and could be found sitting in his rocking chair on the porch listening to the radio and watching the animals. Gary was preceded in death by his brother: Melvin Stone an infant brother Gary Stone and his brothers -in-law: Bobby Minter, James Garland McKinney, and Bill Fargis.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years : Vicky Bell Stone of the home, daughter: Lacey J. Robinson (Tom) of Kingsport, TN, son: Cory Stone of Ridgeway, VA, brother: Ricky Stone (Kay) of Reidsville, sisters: Geraldine Minter of Roanoke, VA, Shirley McKinney and Linda Fargis both of Reidsville, and Libby Hancock (Earl) of Ruffin, grandchildren: Nicholas Robinson, Aowyn Robinson, and Ayla Robinson.
