Gary Lee Bullins, 67, left this earthly life to go to his eternal home in Heaven with Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving wife and 2 daughters who absolutely adored him.

Gary was born August 6, 1956 in Rockingham County to the late Robert Lee and Geneva Bullins. He lived in Pine Hall, NC with his childhood sweetheart, Deborah Duncan Bullins. They met at True Gospel Baptist Church in Madison in 1970. Gary farmed tobacco for most of his life and in the years preceding retirement was contracted as a groundskeeper at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center through the Budd Group.

His greatest love was for his Lord and his family. His daughters and sons in law brought him so much joy along with his six grandchildren who affectionately refer to him as “Papa”. He also loved teaching his adult Sunday school class at True Gospel Baptist Church and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.

Gary was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert Lee and Geneva Doss Bullins, as well as his grandson, Braxton Lee Herbert.

Survivors include his doting wife of 48 years, Deborah Duncan Bullins, who is still deeply in love with him, his daughters, Anna Readling (Joseph) and Sarah Herbert (Tyler), two brothers Mike Bullins and Tim Bullins, a sister Marcie Bullins Burton (Bruce), and six grandchildren Hadassah Readling, Moriah Readling, Tobias Readling, Brayden Herbert, Sawyer Herbert, and Jedidiah Herbert. He is already incredibly missed but we are thankful for the hope that we will see him again. “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corithians 15:57
