Gary Hobert Monnett, 85, of Greensboro passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Clapps Nursing Center.

Gary was born in Guilford County on May 22, 1939, a son of Hobert Worth Monnett and Allene Garrett Monnett, both deceased. He retired from Acme Florist Supply. He had a passion for hot rods and drag racing. He was incredibility gifted and was a self-taught carpenter, welder, electrician and overall handyman.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Connie Fields and husband, Russ of High Point and his sister, Linda Reynolds and husband, Wayne of Whitsett.
In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his wife, Linda Wright Monnett and his brothers, Lynn Monnett and Donald Monnett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Ancora Compassionate Care, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
