Frankie Dean Goad Case, 92, of Madison, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living in Walnut Cove.
She was born on December 23, 1932 in Stokes County to the late Ernest Lee and Ruby Odell Shaffer Goad. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Women’s College of Greensboro (UNC-Greensboro) and was a full time school teacher in Rockingham County for over 30 years and then went on to substitute teach for many more years. She was a lifetime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, a choir member, and held many other positions of service within the church.
Frankie was a very happy and spirited woman who lived a life of joy and left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She had a giving heart and a strong sense of faith. She worked hard, loved fiercely and gave of herself without hesitation. She loved all animals, including her dogs Ginger, Holly (who visited many of her classrooms and even several movie theaters), and Casey and her cat, Gray. She was also an avid bird watcher. She married the love of her life, Clyde Case, on August 6, 1955. They enjoyed going on many trips together and just being in the presence of each other.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her younger sister, Mary Magalene (Maggie) Mabe.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Clyde Harvey Case; niece, Karen Harrison; nephew, Chris Mabe; great-niece, Andrea Harrison Layton; great-nephews, Justin Harrison, Tristan Meredith, and Daniel Mabe; and many other friends and loved ones to mourn her, miss her, and remember her with great fondness and smiles on their faces.
