Obituary: FLORA ELAINE SMITH LAWARY

Ms. Flora Elaine Smith Lawary departed this life on Tuesday afternoon, September 13, 2022.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was a retired farmer by trade. During her leisure, she enjoyed babysitting, taking long walks, socializing, playing bingo and watching her favorite soap operas.
Her parents, Sarah Elizabeth Reynolds Smith and James Henry Smith; beloved husband, Roy Lawary; siblings, Haywood Conwell, Mary Floyd, Dorothy Slade and Willie Smith, preceded her in death. Survivors are: special nieces, Madaline Floyd (Lacey), Demetris Carson and Stacey Fuller; nephew, Rodriquez Floyd; sisters, Kathy Brown and Roylene Wilkerson (Silas); brother-in-law, Robert Slade; special friend, Hakeem; a host of great-nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2022 from the Garrett’s Grove United Methodist Church, 191 High Rock Road, Gibsonville. The family visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
