Faye Collins Martin “Nanny Faye”, 75, of 490 C N Smith Mill Road, Stoneville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Gibson House Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and all other times at her residence.
Ms. Martin was born on July 22, 1947 in Rockingham County to the late Esbert Collins and Etta Hickman Collins. She was “Nanny Faye” to all and will forever be remembered for loving on her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flower garden and sitting with the elderly over the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Ronnie Martin and Mike Martin; grandchild, Ashley Martin; brothers, Cleo, Carl, Joe, Buck and Jimmy Collins and sister, Sallie Farmer.
Survivors include her sons, Ricky Martin (Paula) of Ridgeway, VA, Stevie Martin (Tammy) of Stoneville; daughter, Julie M. White (Roger) of Stoneville; daughter-in-law, Lorrie Martin of King; sisters, Anna Holland and Mary Garcia, both of Stoneville; sisters-in-law, Alice Collins of Reidsville and Rinda C. Rhodes of Eden; grandchildren, Leslie M. Long (Corey), Megan M. Gregory (Justin), Cody Martin (Nikki), Corie W. Doss (Clayton), Paige M. Rea (Branden), Lucas White (Tiffany), Chase Martin (Timberlyn), Hunter Martin (Alexus) and Robbie Martin (Briana); great-grandchildren, Eli and Jadyn Long, Ella Gregory, Abri and Chanden Martin, Brinleigh and Sawyer Kate White, Soren Martin, Ryleigh Rea and Thorben Doss; father of her children, Robert Martin (Linda) of Stoneville and a host of special nieces and nephews who also called her “Nanny Faye”, as she loved them all.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Rockingham County for taking such good care of their mother and their families while she was a patient there.
