Eunice Grubbs Kennon “Bunny”, 79, of Ruffin, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the Rockingham County Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 3, 2023 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Barney Law officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Eunice was born in Rockingham County to the late John Hanibal Grubbs and Myrtle Lee Finney Grubbs. She was a longtime member at Mayfield Missionary Baptist Church. Eunice took pride in cooking lunch every Sunday for everyone in the family and anyone else that wanted to join them. She was a caregiver for her parents, in-laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Michelle Kennon; granddaughter, Isabella Berger; son-in-law, Keith Banner; brother, Herman Grubbs and wife, Anna; and sister, Martha Cromer.
She is survived by her husband of 64 ½ years, George Calvin Kennon; son, Barry Kennon; daughter, Sandra Banner; grandchildren, Heather Garrett (Bryan), Shawna Lovelace (Keith), Brandon Hildebrandt (Malanie), Randy Kennon, Barry Kennon, Jr. (Tessa), Jeremy Hildebrandt, and Adalynn Berger; great grandchildren, Aleigha, Braxton, Kaden, Brooklyn, McKenzie, Adalea, Chase, Cody, Luke, Jase, Harley, Jason, Alayna, Harmony, Katherine; great great grandson, Ryder; sister, Ethel Young; son-in-law, John Berger.
The family would like to thank all the people that helped with her care at the Hospice/Gibson House and at the home.
