Eugene Guy DeMoss, 85, of Stoneville, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at his home.
An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at Glenn’s Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home and all other times at the home of his daughter Norma Watkins (380 Victory Hill Church Road, Stoneville, NC 27048).
Eugene was born in West Virginia on September 14, 1937, to the late Edward and Mae Haines DeMoss. He was a member of Glenn’s Chapel Church and attended faithfully until his health declined. Eugene was very talented and enjoyed building bird houses and gardening, often giving away his produce. He never met a stranger and was an avid hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene “Faye” Martin DeMoss; two brothers and four sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Frankie Jean Knight (Julian) of Stokesdale, Norma Dean Watkins (Billy Ray) of Stoneville, and Betty Ann Dortch (Charles) of Belews Creek; four grandchildren, Kimberly Knight, Daniel Knight, Tammy Watkins, and Josh Price; six great grandchildren; and one great -great grandchild.
