Mrs. Ella Louise Headen Gray departed this life on Friday afternoon, December 9, 2022. 

She was a native of Chatham County, North Carolina and a resident of Bronx, New York for many years before returning to North Carolina upon retirement.  While residing in New York, she was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a retiree of Jacobi Trauma Center.  Presently, she was a devoted member of First Missionary Baptist Church.  During her leisure, she enjoyed sewing, weaving baskets and shopping.

Her mother, Mollie Headen Foxx; son, Harvey Headen; siblings, Ceola Martin (James), Nelathia Brower and Lonnie Headen (Geraldine), preceded her in death.  Survivors are: loving daughters, Lala Headen and Bishop Mary E. Jackson (James); devoted son, Larry Headen; daughter-in-law, Bernice Headen; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Allen; sister-in-law, Lois Headen; brother-in-law, Jack Brower; other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from the First Missionary Baptist Church, 914 Martin Luther King Blvd, Siler City. with Pastor Barry Gray as the eulogist.  Her remains will lie in repose at the church Wednesday beginning at 10:00 am. until the hour of service.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 until 1 p.m. at the church.   Public viewing will be Tuesday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street, Reidsville.
