Elizabeth Ann Simmons, 71, left this earthly life Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her home.
Elizabeth was born on December 8, 1951, in Stokes County, to the late Alonzo Mabe and Virginia Ann Swinson. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She retired from Hanes Dye. Elizabeth had a “green thumb”, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, loved to crochet, and was an avid reader. She was a caring and understanding wife and mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack David Simmons.
Survivors include her daughters, Deinna Pegram (John), and Pamela Mabe; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, and three sisters.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Special appreciation is extended to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice of Dobson, North Carolina.
Colonial Funeral Home in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
