Obituary: EDWARD FRANKLIN “BIG EDDIE” WELDY

Edward Franklin “Big Eddie” Weldy, 68, died Sunday, January 15, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

     Edward was born on October 24, 1954, in Stokes County, to the late Claude Walter Weldy and Dorothy Driver Weldy. He was a good provider and hardworking man who loved his family. Big Eddie was a past employee of TLS of Winston-Salem. He was a skilled mechanic who could build a truck or hotrod from ground up. He loved fishing and riding his motorcycle with club members.

     In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wives Sherry Ayers and Karla Proctor Weldy and Sherry Ayers Weldy and a sister, Elizabeth Kaye Weldy.

      Survivors include sons, Eddie Weldy (April) and Robert Weldy and daughters,

Ashley Weldy and Amie Weldy; and several grandchildren.

     A private family memorial service will be held in the near future.

      Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
