Mr. Edward Allen Russell departed this life on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Smyrna Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 1025 Mizpah Church Road, Reidsville, NC with family visitation one half hour prior to the service. Public visitation will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at McLaurin Memorial Chapel and burial will be conducted at the Reidlawn Cemetery, 1530 Barnes Street, Reidsville, NC.
Edward Allen Russell, the beloved son of the late Erving Russell Jr., and Brenda Faye Walker, was born on November 11, 1986.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, NC, he attended the local public schools. “Allen,” as he was affectionately referred to by family and friends, was a faithful member of Garrett’s Grove United Methodist Church. He enjoyed life and spending time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish precious memories: his beloved Godfather, Frankie Carter of Reidsville, NC; brother, Paul Edward Russell of Reidsville, NC; aunts, Ida Pinnix (Willie), Irma Cunningham, Nancy Turner (Kenneth), and Kay Hooper, all of Reidsville, NC; great aunt, Lena Evans of Reidsville, NC; and a host of other family members and friends.
Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
