Mrs. Edna Courts Mc Collum departed this life on Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2022. 

As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1965.  She pursued further education at Rockingham Community College, receiving an Associate Degree in Business Administration.  As a resolute member of First Christian Church (Disciples In Christ), she actively participated as a Deacon, member of the Senior Choir, Christian Women’s Fellowship and served as Church Historian.  She was a retiree of Henniges Automotive and enjoyed solving puzzles, traveling and cooking.  We thank God for her Christian life of service, love and faithfulness. 

Her parents, Marguriette Courts and William N. Well, Sr.; beloved husband, James Mc Collum, Jr.; son, Barry Courts, preceded her in death. 

Survivors are:  loving daughters, Carla Courts, Angela C. Henderson (Ellis), Michelle Blackwell (Charles) and Rene Blythe (Travis); devoted son, Michael Mc Collum (Carolyn); grandchildren, Tela, Brian, Johnny, Jr., Mikey, Rashad, Jomia, Keyona, Channin, D’auvion, LaBria, Demonte, Micara, Jaheim, Trysten, Brejahnae and Harmony; great-grandchildren, Abby, Kingston, KyAire, Savannah, Bryson and Machai; sisters, Marchia Wells, Brenda Walden and Rev. Laetitia Wells; brother, William N. Wells, Jr. (Phyllis); other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022 from the First Christian Church, Disciples In Christ, 206 Holderby Street with Dr. Jacqueline Mc Henry presiding.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the church.  Public viewing will be Wednesday afternoon from 2 until 8 p.m. at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
